Wonderful destination that you cannot skip from your list. Venture into the Vincentian Coast, along several paths that will leave you amazed. Breathtaking landscapes, a mix between nature and culture and even a dream cave, are some of the ingredients that make this destination an unforgettable place. The best-preserved southern coast region of Europe, where it stands out for its impressive cliffs, has a lot to offer and is waiting to be discovered and admired by you.
The Vicentina Coast, which comprises the coastal strip between Odeceixe and Burgau, is a different Algarve where the preserved nature has a strong and wild character.
This area is part of the Southwest Alentejo and Vicentina Coast Natural Park, being the longest stretch of protected Portuguese coast. The beaches follow one another, some with extensive strips of sand stretching out as far as the eye can see, while others are smaller and surrounded by magnificent schist and limestone cliffs.
Starting off in Odeceixe, the northernmost point, a beach which lies on both sides of a stream, allowing visitors to swim either in the river or in the sea. Here one can find uncrowded beaches, some of which are almost deserted with lesser-known accesses. Vale dos Homens, Carriagem, Amoreira and Monte Clérigo are other beaches to be explored between cliffs covered with vegetation which, here and there, offer fabulous views over this rugged coastline.
