Portuguese Video " PORTUGALNTN, We are what we feel " Wins the CIFFT “People’s Choice” Award 2024
After eighteen days of intense voting, the CIFFT “People’s Choice” Award 2024 has its winner. The Portuguese production “PORTUGALNTN, We are what we feel” claimed the top spot in the global audience's choice, with 26,367 valid votes from 27 countries.
The winning video, produced by PORTUGALNTN, Lda., stood out among 66 entries from 23 countries, by mobilizing supporters both online and offline, generating significant engagement. This marks the third time Portugal has won the CIFFT “People’s Choice” Award, following the victories of the Historical Villages of Portugal in 2021 and the Monção Municipality in 2023.
In its seventh edition, the CIFFT “People’s Choice” Award took place from October 1 to 18 and received 69,430 valid votes across 74 countries. This initiative by the International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals (CIFFT) aims to raise awareness about the importance of video in the tourism industry.
“The CIFFT ‘People’s Choice’ Award continues to highlight the vital role that videos play in engaging audiences in meaningful ways. We are delighted to see such passionate involvement from the public and look forward to celebrating PORTUGALNTN’s achievement at the World Tourism Film Awards in November,” said Alexander V. Kammel, CIFFT Director.
The 66 videos that participated in the CIFFT “People’s Choice” Award 2024 are also competing in the CIFFT Circuit, a global competition for tourism videos and campaigns. This circuit brings together international tourism film festivals to award the World’s Best Tourism Films of the Year. Portugal has been part of this competition since 2008, through the ART&TUR festival, which this year takes place from October 22 to 25, in Lousã.
PORTUGALNTN will be honored at the World Tourism Film Awards ceremony in Valencia, Spain, on November 27, 2024, where it will receive the prestigious CIFFT “People’s Choice” Award trophy, alongside the World’s Best Tourism Films of the Year, solidifying its well-deserved global recognition.
