Discover the magnificent views of Chaves and enjoy a ham tasting experience , one of the region relics.

This hiking trail starts at the village of São Lourenço passes through the São Lourenço Roman Bridge, it crosses the whole village of São Lourenço, over the river with the same name.

Going up the mountain passing the highest point of the route, with extensive views either to the lands of Spain (Galicia), or all the mountains of Barroso and the last but not the least, to the unique Valley of Chaves. From this place you can observe the Castles of Chaves and ‘Monterrey’ in Verin.

After these magnificent views we will come down and we’ll take the wooden bridge walkways and the Roman road linking Braga to Astorga to finish the route in São Lourenço.
