Visit one of the most emblematic monuments - Quinta da Regaleira - before entering the forest, passing through
Quinta da Regaleira is one of the most enigmatic monuments in the "romantic landscape" of the Serra de Sintra, for its rich and diversified symbology, according to some authors (e.g. José Manuel Anes), Masonic-templary, alchemical and Rosicrucian, according to others (e.g. Manuel J. Gandra), based on the Island of Loves, from Os Lusíadas (1572), by Luís Vaz de Camões, and in The Divine Comedy (ca. 1304-1321), by Dante Alighieri.
After visiting this "Philosopher's Mansion" for most of the morning, we will leave Quinta da Regaleira to enter the forest, climbing a trail - the Caminho da Quinta dos Anjos - which will take us into "fairyland". At the end of the climb, a magnificent panoramic view of the Moorish Castle and the Pena Palace awaits us, which will be accompanied by a picnic with typical regional gastronomic products.
