Discover the wonders of Tua Valley Natural Regional Park

This tour starts in Favaios, one of the 5 villages in the Douro Demarcated Region that is officially known as “Aldeia Vinhateira” (wine-growing traditional village) and where you will get to know the famous “Favaios bread” and the well-known and distinctive Favaios Moscatel wine.

Inserted in the region of Cima Corgo, right in the heart of the Douro Demarcated Wine Region and Alto Douro Vinhateiro, there is a wine producing landscape classified by UNESCO as a living evolutive cultural landscape. In our second day of hiking, we will be enjoying it. After we will visit an emblematic winery and to conclude the day we will boat tour the magnificent Douro River.

The next trail begins and finishes in the village of Ribalonga, that still preserves the traditional architecture of winegrowing villages. Afterward we will have a short walk towards the place where we will go snack tasting. To finish with a lasting memorie we will go to “Olhos do Tua” viewpoint.

In the next day we will do two trails. The first heads toward Pinhal do Douro and the second toward Villarinho da Castanheira. Throught the hike we will see various buildings that were witness to the way of life of this village population at the end of the 19th century and mid of the 20th century. We will end this day with a visit to the Rural Memories Museum.

The walking trail of the 5th day is linear, starts near the Sanctuary of our Lady of the Assumption, it passes through the village of Vila Boas, and ends in Vilarinho das azenhas. We will experience the rich heritage of the villages and see the imposing landscape of Faro Mountain.

The following day trail takes place in the Serra de Santa Comba where we find the largest concentration of recent Prehistoric schematic painting in Portugal, a unique cultural heritage with potential for tourism relevance in the regional and national context. After the hike we will experience olive oil tasting.

The hiking trail of the 7th day follows through the village of Murça toward Tinhela river. In this day you will get to know more about Murça, namely about the most decorated Portuguese soldier of World War I - the “Soldado Milhões” and the history of the Sow of Murça, among others.

You will spend the last day of the tour as a free day at Porto
