Tua Valley Regional Natural Park

Discover the wonders of the Tua Valley Regional Natural Park, a new natural park to explore, which brings together the greatest gastronomic and cultural richness of these northern regions of Portugal.

This tour begins with the arrival at Porto followed with a journey in a scenic train.

The following day we will do a trail that starts and ends in Alijó, near the century-old sycamore tree of this small town. In this village you can find constructions, among others, that dates back to past centuries.

The trail of the 3rd day starts in Favaios, one of the 5 villages in the Douro Demarcated Region that is officially known as “Aldeia Vinhateira” (wine-growing traditional village) and where you will get to know the famous “Favaios bread” and the well-known and distinctive Favaios Moscatel wine.

The next day will take you on a walk with landscapes and adventures of dazzle, as this hike takes you through Pinhal do Douro, Vilarinho da Castanheira and its surroundings. You will also get to know a little more about Douro and Trás-os-Montes with your visit to Rural Memories Museum.

The walking trail of the 5th day is linear, starts near the Sanctuary of our Lady of the Assumption, it passes through the village of Vila Boas, and ends in Vilarinho das azenhas. We will experience the rich heritage of the villages and see the imposing landscape of Faro Mountain.

The following day trail takes place in the Serra de Santa Comba where we find the largest concentration of recent Prehistoric schematic painting in Portugal, a unique cultural heritage with potential for tourism relevance in the regional and national context. After the hike we will experience olive oil tasting.

The hiking trail of the 7th day follows through the village of Murça toward Tinhela river. In this day you will get to know more about Murça, namely about the most decorated Portuguese soldier of World War I - the “Soldado Milhões” and the history of the Sow of Murça, among others.

You will spend the last day of the tour as a free day at Porto
